The History of Stones Accountancy Ltd
Stones Accountancy was incorporated in 2006, after founder Peter O’Donnell took over the Maidstone accountancy practice DA Shipp & Co. As the company had already been operating in the area for more than 40 years, Stones Accountancy got off to a good start, with the already extensive experience of the employees and business practices taken fully on board. Today Stones Accountancy are very much accountants for the modern age, and continue to remain up to date with the latest industry laws and practices, such as IR35 and utilising modern software including QuickBooks Pro, QuickBooks online, Xero, Sage and FreeAgent.

Niki Mitchell
Niki is the Practice Manager, and prides herself on ensuring that the office runs smoothly and efficiently, and most importantly by communicating with each client personally. We have a great relationship with all of our clients, and we offer a very friendly service here, where our door is open at anytime for our clients to pop in. When not in the office, Niki loves to exercise and socialise!
Peter O'Donnell
Peter initially trained in a small South-London firm which merged with a ‘top 16’ practice where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989. He acquired Stones Accountancy Limited in 2006 and has been managing director since then. He specialises supporting small businesses with their financial admin and compliance. He has been Treasurer, Director and Trustee of a local rugby club and was responsible for converting the club to a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation).
The key to his success is good communications skills and a calm approach to problem solving.
When he is not working, Peter enjoys Cricket and Rugby Union (although now only as a spectator), country walks and reading.
Leia Clark
Leia is an AAT qualified accountant. She is currently studying to become an ICAEW Chartered Accountant. Leia primarily works on Accounts & Tax Returns for a wide range of clients. When not at work she is busing keeping her family active with swimming, football and adventure golf.
Will O'Donnell
Will is a university graduate, having originally graduated with a degree in Sports Science he is now studying towards his ICAEW Chartered Accountancy qualification. He enjoys working with a variety of clients helping with their accounts and tax queries. In his spare time he is either playing rugby, coaching kids rugby or walking his dog.
Caroline Lee
Caroline joined us a year ago to assist with all aspects of administration and general office duties. She is generally the first point of contact, answering incoming calls and emails allowing her colleagues to focus on work for their clients. Her outside hobbies include exercising, shopping and has an interest in interior design.
